New Zealand Maori Bone Carving Designs...
Hand crafted New Zealand Maori bone carving designs, in their many forms, from the very traditional pieces (Manaia / Tiki / Hei-Matau etc) to more contemporary designs.
Contemporary New Zealand Maori bone carving designs include: Whale tails, Humpback whales, dolphins, sharks and many modern designs.
Exceptional Quality...
We have these manufactured to a quality standard above anything you will find in the majority (if not all) tourist shops in New Zealand. Guaranteed.
Made By Maori Artists Who Have Learnt To Carve From Their Ancestors...
Only the highest quality work, from Maori artists who have learnt to carve from their ancestors, is produced, especially for you or your loved one(s).
Beware Of Imitations!
We are aware of bone carvings that are made from compressing powdered bone with glue and then pressed out in a mould...these are sold on the internet at very cheap prices, (and sadly, all too common in some tourist shops around the world) and now you know why... they have no spiritual qualities, they are poorly made, they will not last, and do not come with a life time guarantee like we offer on all of our bone / greenstone / shell carvings!

Special Feel And Qualities...
Bone artwork has a very special feel about it, unlike anything else you will ever experience.
It's milky white appearance and soft flowing lines are just the start...
It is soft and warm to the touch yet the finish is like polished glass, it seems to blend with your body and become a part of you, especially when worn against your skin.
The Bone Carving Becomes Part Of You Over Time...
Over a period of time the carving absorbs oils from your skin and changes color to a very light honey gold.
The Maori believe this to be the carving taking on some of your spirituality or essence and thus truly becoming a part of the wearer.
A bone, jade or pearl carving is a very special piece of personal artwork to wear yourself or give to someone you really care about.
Hand Crafted...
Each piece is crafted by hand so even if following the same design, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.

"I have never seen anything like it, it was perfect in every way, just as I had dreamed it might be..."
"I ordered the Hei-Matau 1.17 about a week ago but was very nervous about buying on the Internet after hearing how some of my friends were ripped off.
I got a nice email the next day to say it was on its way but was still unsure of what the pendant would be like when it arrived. The pictures looked good, but for the low price, I decided I would not be too surprised if it was a bit rough.
Well it arrived yesterday morning and yes I was very surprised, it is absolutely stunning.
I have never seen anything like it, it was perfect in every way, just as I had dreamed it might be. I wore it to work and everyone loved it, I even got stopped at a restaurant later and asked about it so it really is attracting a lot of attention.
When my pendant arrived I didn't expect the great little native bag it came in or the wonderful information about what the pendant means. That made it even more special and my friends were fascinated by the story behind it.
I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you, it is really great to know there are actually honest and professional people on the Internet after all. You have restored my faith in shopping on the Internet and given me a beautiful pendant I will treasure always.
My friends all want to see your site so I am sure you will get some orders from them and my husband who has fallen in love with your carvings is going to order a Manaia this afternoon.
Thank you again".
