Possum-Merino Hand Knitting Yarn...
Hand knitting yarn spun from 100% natural fibers all grown in the pastures and forests of clean and green New Zealand.
A mixture of lovely soft Possum fiber and Merino lambs wool blended together to give a distinct and unique possum - wool yarn for your knitting pleasure.
The garments you will produce from this possum-wool yarn will be unique and hard to part with. Once washed (must hand wash before wearing), your garment is amazingly soft yarn; in fact, it has almost a halo look like an angora blend.
30% Possum Fur/70 % Wool. A woolen spun yarn with a gorgeous handle. For sheer luxury, this yarn will not pill, and possum being a hollow fiber is one of the warmest fibers on the planet.
Details Of Each Skein Of Possum-Wool Yarn...
- Double Spun.
- Blended: Merino 70%, Possum 30%.
- 8 Ply 380 TEX
- One skein of 8 ply 30/70 possum-wool yarn is 100 grams net weight (standard condition).
- The length of each skein (ball) of possum-wool yarn is approximately 220 meters .
- Hand Wash.
- Needle Size(4 mm) needles (No 8).
- Average 36" Jersey will require 600 grams.
Ensure The Same Color Shading...
Please ensure you purchase sufficient possum-wool hand knitting yarn to complete your garment. This is to ensure the same color shading, as it is machine batched dyed.
Washing Instructions...
- Once you have knitted your garment, you must hand wash it immediately before wearing it. (Do not machine wash).
By washing it immediately before anybody wears it, locks/binds the fine possum fur into the merino lamb wool and stops it coming out (shedding).
- We recommend that you hand wash in soft wool wash liquid soap (e.g. Lux soap flakes) at a warm temperature ~86 degrees Fahrenheit(~30 degrees centigrade).
- Dry lying down flat in the shade (not in direct sunlight).
- Do not iron.
- Do not bleach.
