The latest addition to the fleet is the Honda CRF230 - a very popular trail bike. Ideal for recreational use for smaller people it is perfect when a 250 is too tall or heavy. On a recent exploration ride looking for another route over a mountain the CRF230 was so much more manageable.

Riding on goat tracks and places we would struggle to ride a 450 size bike really impressed us. Used regularly for coaching, the CRF introduces people to our favourite recreation without being intimidating and surprises most on the potential of the 230cc engine.

For so many New Zealanders who grew up with one of the Honda XR200's as a first bike it is hard not to enjoy riding.

The greatest single improvement, the electric start, has changed the image of dirt bikes as I remember so many friends’ girlfriends struggling to start an XR200. Now any of them could ride this bike with ease.
