The Winemakers Note...
Over a number of weeks in late summer and early autumn each year here in New Zealand, only the ripest feijoa fruit is selected and touch picked.
Carefully taken to the Hawke's Bay winery, the fruit is then crushed and left to macerate for 24 hours for maximum flavor extraction.
After pressing, the juice was cold-settled to separate the unwanted solids and turpene flavors, producing a clear fruit juice that is cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 months before being clarified, filtered and bottled.
The Tasting Note...
Behind an attractive pale straw color, a world of intense flavor and aroma opens up. Tropical fruits like guava and pineapple spring to mind on the nose and palate with some light sweetness to give this aromatic wine a touch of real class.
Feijoa Still Wine Doesn't Need Cellaring - And Is To Be Enjoyed Now...
Cellaring is not required and therefore a wine to be enjoyed now.
