"It was not difficult to come up with a title for this album, because that's just what it is, A collection of some of the most popular children's stories ever heard on radio.
I am flooded with memories from my early childhood of the Sunday morning Junior Request programme and all those wonderful stories that would be played each week. Rumplestiltskin, Little Red Riding Hood, The Gingerbread Man and a host of others. So when in 1978 I began hosting my own Children's Show on radio, it wasn't too surprising that yet another generation found these same old favourites to be theirs, and though the days of Don Linden's Small World are now long gone, the record library is still in tact.
In answer to many people's requests, and to introduce yet another generation to the Magic age of wireless, I've once again opened the record library to bring you just some of what I consider to be 'The Classic Collection'.
I hope it will bring happy times for the young and happy memories for the young at heart."
