"This quiet corner of Langs Beach is the subject of many postcards and calendars, and also where I gave a brief painting lesson to a friend. The painting is of a large size not usually seen in my studio and represents many hours of work.

The larger size really gives you the feeling that you can walk right into the painting. I think Langs is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Whangarei area. This little corner of it echoes the feeling of the whole beach which is sheltered by large Pohutukawas who cast welcoming shadows on hot summer days."
