Honey Is Chemical Free & Totally Pure...
New Zealand beekeepers do not feed antibiotics to their bees, so the honey is chemical free and totally pure.
A variety of honey from different New Zealand flowers to give richness of flavor, texture and color:
Clover flavor (from the Trifolium pratense family).
Clover honey is produced throughout most of New Zealand, but the South Island and Canterbury, Otago and Southland provinces in particular, are the prime areas of quality clover production. Clover honey is light in color with a delicate floral bouquet and flavor. It is offered in both creamed and liquid forms providing both the ease of use for sweetening drinks, baking, etc. with liquid and the thick creamy texture for use as a spread.
Tawari flavor
The 'Beaujolais' of honeys, Tawari is best savored when young. It's origins are the lowland forests of New Zealand's far north where the elegant tree's waxy white flowers prized by ancient Maori gift the bees a light yellow nectar with a lingering butterscotch flavor. So subtle and mild, it's perfect for topping pancakes, waffles or ice cream.
Manuka Honey
Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand from two plants, both of which are from time to time called manuka. The most common honey source of these is Leptospermum scoparium, and of the two, is the most commonly called manuka.
The honey is dark colored, (around 84mm average color ± 11.8mm SD - Pfund scale), strongly flavored, with a herby, woody characteristic, and is often highly "thixotropic" (jellied) like European Heather honey (Calluna vullgaris).
Rewarewa flavor
Rich and malty, this honey is full bodied yet not overly strong and has a beautiful burnished amber hue. And because the distinctive clustered red flowers of this New Zealand Honey suckle may not bloom well each year, Rewarewa is a premium variety. A hint of rustic wool sheds pervades the complex aroma. Rewarewa is a great natural sweetener for hot drinks.
Blue Borage
Blue Borage is produced from the Blue Borage plant which has many small blue flowers. It is light amber in color and has a mild delicate flavor. Can be eaten from the spoon, used as a spread or added to cooking or hot drinks.
Kamahi flavor
Kamahi is a common tree found in many of New Zealand's rugged native forests, and is an excellent source of honey. The creamy colored flowers are very attractive to bees and bloom in abundance throughout the Spring producing a light amber honey with a distinctive, full-bodied complexity of flavor preferred by many honey connoisseurs.
Each honey jar has 0.88 oz (25gm)of unbelievable tasty honey in it. Enjoy it on hot buttered toast!!
